I wouldn't mind a 2gb shuffle so I don't have to sync as often.
Wait a year, and you will probably see a 2GB Shuffle with some sort of playlist feature.

No movie studios have enabled this feature ("ICT" Image Constraint Token), nor have they stated that they intend to enable this feature in the future (although that is possible). All HD DVDs and Blu-Ray discs AND players currently available can send a full high definition image over analog component outputs as well as HDMI.
Do some research.

Thanks. Did the research and am now convinced that they'll wait until after we've drank the Kool-Aid to enable the ICT.

Not gettin' it: people are afraid of THE GOVERNMENT getting the data, through whatever means. Most people don't give 2 craps about specifically Apple having the data.
What i find hilarious about people being afraid of the gvernment statement is that if the gov wants ur info, they will take it. Apple really isnt the people to be afraid of. If the gov wanted totrack you, bitch they will. They dont need phones to do it either. They will make a new day of the week just to make you gone.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see iOS 5 offering us too much at this point.
I wouldn't mind a new map app- yesterday I got lost, my car GPS sent me on a goose chase, and my iPhone didn't help much.

Other than getting to meet some other mac geeks, has anyone heard anything in regards to what (if any) specials the Apple Stores have planned for this event?

Again, us Americans with our fake subsidy. Other countries are getting iPhones for free with contract. Lame.
Oh, and if people think T-Mobile is better, they increase the subsidized price of their G2 and myTouch 4G to $249 from $199 not too long ago.
After the buy-out announcement?
I know some of their "deals" have gone away since then...
Coincidence?

It is seeming more and more likely that enhanced interrogation techniques (a.k.a. torture), provided information that allowed the U.S. to kill O.B.L.....
edit;
I doubt we'll ever know the real facts as it's already turned political. It seems that supporters of torture are going to claim it worked and opponents will say the opposite
Before a day had passed, the torture debate had flared. The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Representative Peter T. King, Republican of New York, told Fox News that the success of the hunt for Bin Laden was due to waterboarding. The next morning, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California and chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said just as flatly that “none of it came as a result of harsh interrogation practices.” NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/04/us/politics/04torture.html)
for what it's worth, the NY Times report contradicts the idea that torture provided the vitally useful information

I guess we probably won't see any major change in the direction of OSX. I wonder what the science he wants to focus on could be?

So...your premise is that the USA has....??good?? internet service? Compared to other places? Are you comparing to that island of cannibals in the Thailand area? Cause, I don't think they care. Americans may be spoiled rotten, but not on this item.
I was just about to post as the first V user, guess I'm #3. Something would be nice. I'm waiting on my JB decision, partly for 4.3.x.
Same here. The mismatched iOS versioning between the AT&T and Verizon iPhones is beginning to remind me of Android. Because of Apple's history of ensuring all current iOS devices are on the same release is a big reason I made the move from the Droid X, and now Apple is doing it too. Whether or not I see a benefit from the latest iOS release, I want to be sure I had the latest and greatest rather than play the wait game plauging many of the Android based phones.

I think the keynote was a bust. Waaaaaaaaayyyy to much time spent on the frickin' iPhone, and I'm the perfect demographic for it. My iPod 4Gen just died, and my Samsung Cingular cell is on the fritz, but there is no way in hell I'm paying $600 for a nano/phone combo. 8gig is not enough space, especially when you start putting any video content on there. Thanks Steve, I'll pass...
I was thinking too that I'm the perfect demographic ... tied in Cingular customer, not terribly happy with my moto phone, Apple freak. I agree that the price is terrible and the memory too small.
I wonder if video streaming to the phone might be announced before the product hits the shelves. The PSP can stream movies via Sony's LocationFree player. Maybe the Apple Phone will stream via a Slingbox or Apple Movie and they won't announce the functionality until later. Otherwise, I can't understand why they'd release a wide screen iPod without the storage space to hold movies.

Its never a good thing when the guy behind the reason we buy Mac's leaves. :(
For the user who mentioned that he was behind OS X flaws (you mentioned iTunes bloat) - you are wrong. iTunes isn't run directly by the Mac OS development team, it has its own department. There's probably a little crossover however generally he wouldn't have much input on iTunes.
since almost no one buys a Mac and almost everyone buys an idevice, no one cares about him leaving.
the world has moved past computers being the center of personal computing

Sure, put an Airport Express in every room with a set of speakers plugged in to each one and your done. Play music from your Mac, iPod Touch or iPhone to one or multiple rooms.

I hate AT&T with a passion. Yet, I'd never switch to Verizon because I'm hooked on 3Mbps + speeds. They're the crack of carriers.
Yup, just went from $5 Rocks to $10. :apple:

I think Apple will incorporate this type of functionality into their first phone. Why the heck else would people buy it, because it's pretty?! It has to have enough sweet features to convince people to drop their current phone and maybe even contract, otherwise it's going to be a huge and very very well publicized flop. They've gotten a lot of free press lately on the iPhone so they can't screw this up or the general public (not just us mac geeks) will hear about it.

where i have just started work (Grant Thornton) we use it, its a refreshing change to see Outlook not being used. it seems quite nice so far but then again it also feels relativly slow and some parts are rather 'comical' like the headers that you can put on your emails (or memos as called in notes), but all in all seems quite good and imporeved mac support is never a bad thing!
